Visit in August 2023

End of August it was time again for Marianne and Kurt to visit with full joy the Maisha Bora team and the kids, the Mapinga school, and much more. In this blog they tell you about their journey and how the projects are developping Have fun reading.

At the end of August 2023, Kurt and I were welcomed at the children's home with these enchanting words. We enjoyed a wonderful and fulfilling Sunday together with the children and the staff of Maisha Bora and some children from the Saturday Club with games, dancing and a good meal prepared by the mamas and the older children.

Our stay was peppered with visits to the Mapinga school, the various family projects and the health project. We spent a lot of time with Leah, Masia and Winrose to find out how they have been doing over the last few months. Together we also visited a potential new project in Bagamoyo and we will be looking into it a bit more.

We also enjoyed a visit to another children's home and the mamas have arranged to meet again to chat and create a social connection for the children.

All projects are going very well. We feel how the momentum for projects and lectures is carried by the responsible people and how they are moving forward with great joy. We are very happy that the first success in the local search for donations has been achieved after some setbacks and that Winrose and Masia were able to open important doors for their lectures. They are staying on top of this as well.

Also a family trip with the whole Maisha Bora team, their partners and children could be fulfilled thanks to a dedicated donation - "Thank you very much"!

Thanks to an internal family donation, we were able to have a dining table and several chairs produced for our children. With great joy this handmade furniture was inaugurated in the children's home.

Gratitude is the memory of the heart.“
